Your sound. Your rules.
Create your own character.
A Touchgasm pack is a folder containing a JSON manifest and audio recordings. Add an avatar and, for location-based reactions, a surface image with rectangular regions.
First, choose how it reacts
Progressive: consistent recordings from gentle movement to a finale. Reactive: separate sounds for contact, movement direction, pinching, spreading, tapping or holding. You don't need to include every reaction.
Audio that feels responsive
- Short one-shot reactions: around 0.1–1.2 seconds, without long silence at the start.
- Movement loops: around 1–3 seconds, with no audible seam.
- WAV PCM at 48 kHz, mono or stereo, 16 or 24 bit is a good starting point.
- Match loudness and keep the sources, authors and licences for every file.
A simple reactive example
The manifest below binds a loop to sideways motion. Add your own recording to the folder: horizontal.wav. This filename is an example.
{
"schemaVersion": 2,
"id": "my-pack",
"name": "My Pack",
"mode": "reactive",
"sounds": {
"horizontal": [
"horizontal.wav"
]
},
"bindings": [
{
"id": "horizontal",
"when": {
"event": "stroke_horizontal"
},
"sound": "horizontal",
"playback": "loop"
}
]
}
Artwork and regions are optional
Avatar: square 512×512 PNG. Trackpad surface: landscape PNG, ideally 1600×1000 (8:5 aspect ratio), without a drawn device frame. Regions use 0–1 coordinates from the top left; they are rectangular and cannot overlap. The centre of the finger group determines the active region.
Package and test
The ZIP should contain manifest.json at the root along with the declared audio and artwork. Choose “Import pack” in the app. The loader checks structure, paths and actual media decoding. Manifests are data: scripts and external media URLs aren't supported.
The builder runs in your browser without uploading files. If you need help getting started, get in touch ↗.
